I am a social development professional with more than 10 years of experience in Public Health Nutrition, Natural disaster & Emergency response programmes in different social cultural settings of India & South Sudan. My experience include program planning, implementation and management of programmes to facilitate Infant and Young Child Nutrition interventions, Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition & Micronutrient Supplementation Programs. Certified expert on Public Health Nutrition research methodologies such as Standardized Monitoring and Assessment of Relief and Transition (SMART), Nutrition Causal Analysis (NCA) Community based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) and Nutrition in Emergency. Currently working as Emergency Nutrition Specialist with UNICEF- South Sudan, I am supporting section in implementation of Rapid Response Mission and integrated nutrition program management across the country. Before South Sudan assignment, I worked with UNICEF Madhya Pradesh and Gujrat Field Offices of India as the State & Regional Consultant for 5 years.Contributed to make a distinct difference in the life of children, especially those marginalized by implementing child survival and development projects and programs along with government and various partners. Played a significant key role in the establishment of State Nutrition Mission through inter-sectoral convergence of different departments, scaling up of Anaemia Control Program, rolling out of new WHO Growth standards in both states of India. In response to high child mortality rate attributable to severe acute malnutrition (SAM) in MP & Gujarat, supported MOH in establishment and implementation of Nutrition Rehabilitation Centers (NRC) to provide timely and quality care for children with SAM, made more than 100 NRCs functional in 15 districts in 4 years’ time period.
