About Harmony Rose Gibaldi

I am currently in my 4th year of undergraduate education at the University of Florida, completing my dual degree in Psychology (B.S.) and Women’s Studies - Theories & Politics of Sexuality (B.A.) with a minor in Sociology. I am currently working as a research assistant for the Connection and Community Initiative at UF, dedicated to identifying barriers to college students’ mental health and wellness as well as mental health crisis intervention. I am also now entering my role as a Registered Behavioral Technician, where I will be directly working with children with disabilities and providing therapy services in applied behavioral analysis. My research interests include studying the intersections of identity and how systems of oppression shape psychological experiences, notably personal identity and relationships informed by traumatic experiences. I am also interested in studying the LGBTQ+ and autistic adult populations, investigating factors contributing to their increased vulnerability to trauma and isolation. I aspire to practice as a counseling psychologist and help guide individuals from marginalized communities towards a path of self-understanding and healing. Looking to apply to masters and doctoral programs in counseling psychology this upcoming year.
