About Harold Sloves

Harold Sloves is an Innovation Consultant for Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Services, Systems & Networks entailing consultation and speaking engagements in multiple states. The focus of these engagements has been the paradigm shift toward integrating enabling technology supports as a primary option for people with intellectual disabilities. Harold is also a principal collaborator in the launch of the Technology First Alliance (TFA). TFA is a nonprofit think tank and consulting organization created to be a national and international Technology First catalyst. This professional chapter follows his role as Director of the Division of Program Innovation within Tennessee’s Department of Intellectual Disabilities. During his tenure as Innovation Director, Harold led a multi-disciplinary team to find, develop, test and offer innovative solutions for people, their families and providers. The Division encompassed Enabling Technology, Employment Innovation and Community Inclusion, and Workforce Transformation. During this time, Tennessee assumed a leading role in fostering a national Technology First Movement through the creation of a national Consortium of Technology States. Harold has held numerous provider leadership roles, providing a range of community services for adults and adolescents with cognitive disabilities and behavioral health issues.
