About Harold Spieckermann

My first experience at selling was when my brother and I would pick blackberries at daybreak, on the farm we grew up on. Our jeans and boots were soaked from walking in a hayfield to the berry patch, in the heavy morning dew of what usually turned into a hot summer day. We then would have mom take us to town where we would walk up and down my grandparent’s street in Moberly Mo. and sell our daily harvest of blackberries. In 1977 while attending college at the University of Missouri my wife, Peggy and I married. Later had four wonderful kids who have turned in to extraordinary women and men! We are so far blessed with 5 grandchildren, ALL GIRLS! In June of 1981, I had interviewed for a sales job selling office machines. Jim Graf (my mentor) interviewed me at the house. Peggy made chocolate chip cookies and he loved them. I was offered the job the next day. I became a salesman for Modern Business Systems based out of Jefferson City Missouri. I took to selling copiers like a dog does to steak! Years later I learned that Jim received a $200 bonus if he had a full sales team! I still think it was the cookies. As I live life I understand it. Watching season 41 of Survivor on TV, I see that relationships are key. I have built my career on relationship building. Through morning coffees, after hours events. Mingle with all. To develop relationships. Thus social digital sales now prevail in life. Life changed in March of 2020. Taught me to change. Pivot. Get to know people making decisions through social media. This all leads me to understanding that, in my case, relationship selling is and has been the key to my success over the years as Zig Ziglar said “you can get everything out of life you want if you help enough other people get what they want”. This sums up me, my loves are God, my wife, my kids, family, pets, and of course smoking and BBQ! Smoking a brisket teaches you that some things take patience and time. You can’t hurry up and cut corners, or the presentation is off. Like a fine cigar or glass of fine scotch, there is no need to hurry the process.I have been in the sales of office technologies for the business office for the past 40 + years. I am a Sales Representative for: Business Systems. We are based in Fayetteville Arkansas.
