About Harrison Burns

I take pride in my hard work and versatility when it comes to completing jobs and projects. I’ve lived all over the country and can adapt to any environment. In combination with this and my attention to detail and dedication to getting the job done right, I’ve found success at Geneva College while studying chemical engineering. While at Geneva, I’ve gained skills with Aspen HYSYS, AutoCAD, and Inventor. I’ve also studied topics from process analysis to unit operations, and fluid mechanics to thermodynamics. In addition to that, I’ve also had the opportunity to work in teams with my classmates on extended projects and collaborate on technical reports. This gave me the experience needed to work as an engineering intern at Solids Handling Technologies in the Summer of 2023. While here I learned a great deal about powder and bulk solids handling in addition to hopper, silo, and feeder design. In the Summer of 2024, I had the opportunity to work as a production engineering intern at Kaneka North America. This gave me experience in a fast paced specialty chemical manufacturing environment. As part of my time here, I had the opportunity to troubleshoot various systems alongside the on-staff production engineers and oversee projects to improve the process’ safety and quality.
