My name is Harrison Datkowitz and I have been working for Amazon for over six years. In that time I have taken away a lot of great skills, my most recent position being the pinnacle of my work with the company. I have worked my way from starting my own successful station in Pittsburgh to now managing one of the largest extra-large delivery stations in the network located right outside of Philadelphia. On the way I have developed and helped promote mangers to my level and giving associates the opportunity to shine in their roles and promote as well. Prior to my work as a Station Manager, Amazon has allowed me to develop an ambassador program for the AMZL network, a project that I have spearheaded in the New York/New Jersey region. I have not only helped identify the perfect candidates for these positions but also created a four to six month turnaround time for these associates to promote to higher positions. I have created a training and development process that not only exposes associates to higher levels of responsibilities but also gives them an opportunity to show upper management what these individuals can bring to the operation. This opportunity has allowed eighty percent of ambassadors to go on to higher positions. The second project is something I created on my own and has now been implemented across the country. During the ambassador development program I was able to identify and solve a crucial issue regarding training that occurs during the day. The ambassadors were not as effective as intended, with research and data analysis I was able to isolate the problem, create another way to develop the training of associates, and implement the training in a way that was easily scalable across the country. This training adjustment has been able to improve productivity in the New York/New Jersey region by, in some stations, five or more percent.
