Background
About Harrison Lee
Born in Seattle, Washington, I am a graduate of the UW Evans School of Public Policy and Governance with a concentration in environmental policy and management. My interests are centered around what will allow my experiences in university, abroad, and at the non-profit level to shape a geographically founded analytical career. I desire to help others, particularly in environmentally and demographically robust areas, by promoting equitable resource management through public outreach.Genuinely, I enjoy describing myself as someone who seeks knowledge; and am certainly inquisitive. I am a welcoming person, who enjoys getting to know the stories of others, places, and processes. I also try to remain conscious and aware of the environmental consequences that come from decision making while assessing policies or programs. I am specifically passionate about scale. By this, I mean that I am interested in analyzing the social and environmental relationships across varying levels of analysis, and how these relationships determine environmental planning and governance, development programs, and systems of resource use. I think the distinctions we can make between conservation and preservation in our discourses regarding public health, especially housing and planning, exist on spatial and temporal scales that are underappreciated. With this, I wish to research social issues and analyze and advocate sustainable policies by the enrichment of geographical thinking through logistics and analysis.Through discourses of geographical and public policy analysis, I would like to use interdisciplinary means for conducting business research, particularly of urban/rural development. I would like to help societies accomplish this by analyzing and shaping policies that ameliorate social issues and promote sustainable practices, both personal and communal.
