About Harrison Payne

Numbers, problem solving and renewable energy have always intrigued me. Although I was never quite sure how I would link all these interests, I knew I wanted to help solve some of the world’s most challenging energy problems. Currently, I am completing my final year of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Adelaide. In line with my passions, I have chosen to major in renewable energy and computer science. The latter choice was sparked from my interest in coding, which began in my final year of primary school, experimenting with Minecraft servers and building plugins from the ground up in Java. I pride myself on being the hardest worker in the room, be that on the basketball court, the classroom or in the gym. My friends and family know me as a caring and driven person. A long-term goal of mine is to run my own engineering business and help shape the future of the environment for the better. Outside of study, I work multiple jobs including on commercial construction sites as a trades assistant, in the disability support industry and as a tutor. Basketball is a competitive outlet for me as I compete at a high level. My fascination with numbers has also transitioned to an interest in personal finance.
