I'm an ex-professional poker player looking to transition into a career in the Gaming industry. One of my biggest breakthrough moments in poker was when I read a post about bluffing. It said "Every poker hand is a story. To successfully bluff you need to tell a story that makes sense to your opponent, and to catch a bluff you need to know when the story your opponent is telling doesn't make sense." I am very good at knowing when a story isn't making sense. I am a pattern recognizer who is specifically good at knowing when something doesn't belong. It was this ability that let me spend the last few years of my poker career almost entirely playing heads-up poker against computerized opponents. Because the secret to beating simulations isn't to outplay them, it's to identify the patterns in their play and then attack the holes in the programming. In my previous job before DraftKings, I worked for a play money poker site and my mandate was to do what I could to make the games better. I chose to spend a lot of my time identifying and monitoring any player involved in fraudulent activity to protect my games. I play defense. I'm looking to take on more responsibility and move into a position where I make use of my unique experience.
