About Harry Cooney

I am a Lead Data & Business Intelligence Consultant with seven years of experience delivering end-to-end analytics solutions for global clients across the finance, operations, and sales sectors. My focus is on building data solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. I specialise in designing sustainable data platforms and defining KPI frameworks in collaboration with senior stakeholders to ensure that technical architecture always serves a strategic purpose. Currently, I serve as a Lead Data Engineering & Analytics Consultant and Manager at The Information Lab Ireland. In this dual-capacity role, I act as the technical lead on complex, multi-system finance transformations while directly managing a permanent delivery team of data engineers and analysts. My recent work includes spearheading enterprise BI roadmaps and migrating legacy infrastructures to modern environments like Microsoft Fabric using medallion architecture. I have a proven track record of consolidating fragmented data, such as engineering unified Snowflake data marts that integrate global SAP systems across hundreds of reporting units to establish a single source of truth.Beyond my consulting engagements, I am deeply involved in the global data community. I am a published author of a Tableau textbook and have had my work featured at the Tableau Conference. My commitment to high-impact data storytelling was further recognized when I was shortlisted for the World Data Visualisation Prize. My technical expertise is centered on a robust stack including Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and Python, alongside cloud architecture tools like Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and Snowflake.
