Harry Hoffman served as Chief Investment Officer at Mayo Clinic from 1994 to 2020, overseeing $21 billion in assets and a staff of 24 at the time of his retirement. He designed and implemented Mayo Clinic’s global multi-asset investment strategy and helped Mayo achieve top tier long term performance. Harry also served as Treasurer for Mayo from 2003 to 2020 and oversaw issuance of $4.5 billion of long term tax-exempt and taxable debt and the development of a sophisticated network of banking, insurance and risk management relationships. Harry stepped down from his CIO and Treasurer roles on December 31, 2020 and retired on April 30, 2021 after four months as a Senior Advisor. In retirement, Harry is serving as Fund Co-Manager of the Southeast Minnesota Capital Fund, an angel investment group of which he has been a member since 2017. SMCF backs high growth and high potential Minnesota start-ups with a preference for those located in SE Minnesota.
