About Harry Olson

With over 15 years of experience in design, I am a senior user experience researcher at the Ministry of Environment and Parks, where I lead service transformation teams in the public service. I have a Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC) credential and a master's degree in digital experience design from Hyper Island. My core competencies include communicating complex systems and frameworks for a public audience, translating insights into action (using qualitative and quantitive methods), and mentoring and coaching staff and stakeholders. I am passionate about creating positive social and environmental impact through design, and I have worked on projects ranging from clean energy, architecture, and urban planning. Some of my recent achievements: connecting people to the outdoors through reservations and improved content at BC Parks, improving access to climate change initiatives at CleanBC, developing a national policy for happier and healthier communities in the UAE, and applying rapid placemaking techniques to revitalize local government streets.
