About Harry Silver

My focus these days is on spending time with my nine grandchildren, traveling, playing PickleBall, and continuing to support the hundreds of Students and Veterans who I have been fortunate to coach and mentor. My ongoing coaching and mentoring relates to sharing my private sector experience and advising Military Vets and the next generation of public, non-profit and social sector leaders. I was recently re-appointed by NJ Governor Murphy to serve as a member of the NJ-Israel Commission and also previously served as a Public Member of a state resilience Task My Profile: Harry Silver served as an adjunct professor and senior fellow on the faculty of Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) for 10 years. He also supports students at the Columbia School of Social Work who seek managerial/policy roles upon graduation, as well as students at several NJ universities (NJIT, Monmouth and His student coaching/mentoring roles include leading workshops on developing your pitch, simplifying your resume for impact and developing more assertive networking communications. Mr. Silver teaches “Leading and Sustaining Change,” a course that equips graduate students with skills to lead change or play a team leader role within a few years of graduation. He is also a faculty advisor for capstone projects and mentors Executive Masters of Science in Technology Management the past three years he has mentored dozens of veterans who recently left active duty (within the ACP, Valor Bridge, Columbia MilVets and Veterans Mr. Silver is a former Managing Director with Goldman Sachs. He has led several global operational and risk management initiatives in investment banking, corporate services, human capital management, compliance operations, crisis management, global security, and vendor risk management. In 2012, Goldman loaned him to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for a year to be a senior executive advisor Washington Silver has also served as SVP and chief administrative officer of the (DotCom) Wit Soundview Group; executive director for Cravath, Swaine and Moore; VP and chief of staff to the president of Personal and Banking Services at Chemical Bank; principal with the consulting firm of Booz, Allen and Hamilton; and auditor at Arthur Andersen & Co.
