About Harry Taylor

As the Head of Member Engagement & Volunteering at The Labour Party, I lead the development and implementation of the party's strategy for engaging and mobilising members and supporters. With 17 years experience in active politics, elections and representation, I have worked with a broad range of stakeholders (including SMEs, trade unions, and MPs), and run election campaigns for parliament and local government. I served as a Labour councillor at Town and Unitary level for 8 years including terms as a Mayor, Deputy Leader, and Planning Committee Chair. I am also a published author and researcher, with a Master's degree in history and a journalism qualification. I have written for various media outlets, such as The Times, Tribune, Political Quarterly, and the Fabian Review, and authored or co-authored books on Labour history, such as Peter Shore: Labour's Forgotten Patriot and Victor Grayson: In Search of Britain's Lost Revolutionary. My passion is to explore and share hidden or lost aspects of Labour’s, and Britain’s, political history. I’ve recently completed my level one FA coaching qualification to help coach a local football team and have taken up a role as a school governor.
