About Harry Wilson

I am a very social, patient and compassionate individual, that feels very confident on my chosen career path. I have felt for a long time, my calling to the field of mental health and counselling. I am passionate about a person centred approach, for supporting people in overcoming whichever barriers they need too, in order to live, feel and enjoy the best possible life they can. Outside of this, culture, history and languages are some of my most avid interests and passions. This led me to study Culture, history, Language, Film and literature at university level, but also drove me to prioritise frequent travel. I speak German to conversational (self-taught) and Russian to high beginner (University) levels respectively. To date I have traveled to, and/or around, 38 countries & territories - many of which multiple times. This includes inter-railing, wild camping, mountain hiking and road trips, with close friends over the years. I am also a very keen and regular snooker player, gym goer and occasional reader of History, psychology and philosophy. Currently, I am studying to attain fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counselling status - DipCouns,(NCPS Acced.) at the Connexus institute of Psychology in Brighton - my accreditation due July 2026. Through this qualification, I will be eligible for MBACP registration the same year. Along side this, I am currently working as a (Adult) Mental health community recovery worker with Venture people. I have been working in the Mental health field for over 4 years - including both child and more recently adult mental health care. My experience includes: special needs, behavioural and mental health management within a secondary school, Mental health and EBD therapeutic intervention - across multiple children’s homes and (Adult) Mental health recovery work - Community outreach across West Sussex. I also have experience in both sales consultancy (1 year) and secondary teaching (6 month).
