About Harsh Garg

I love numbers, and I love solving problems. Better yet, I love solving problems involving numbers. I am part of the generation that grew up with computers. I love sitting in front of a computer and doing things like coding, reading articles, playing video games, etc. As such, it was clear to me from a pretty young age that I want to do a job that entails using a computer extensively. The fact that I love solving problems guided me to data science and machine learning. It's the perfect mix of my love for numbers, problem-solving, and computers. My first corporate internship cemented this. I was still a greenhorn in college doing statistics and economics courses, trying to learn all that I could about analytics when I landed an internship at Anheuser-Busch InBev. I felt at home trying to come up with clever ways to solve the problem they asked me to solve. I loved researching how others solved similar problems and trying to tweak and apply those methods to my use case. My entry into the world of data science and analytics wasn't an accident and I'm here to stay. I love looking at data for hours and trying to understand what it's trying to tell me, and trying to frame a story around it that actually makes sense. I'm obsessed with data. I have dabbled in multiple applications of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. I've done college and professional projects on classification, forecasting, computer vision, and natural language processing. I am proficient in Python, PowerBI, and Excel, and have a working knowledge of C/C++, R, and SQL. I am enthusiastic about learning new programming languages and have recently started learning JavaScript. My biggest skill is using Google searches efficiently whenever I'm stuck.
