About Harshilkumar Thakkar

I would like to describe myself as a resourceful person who knows how to be resourceful from the available resources. Elaborating it, I educate myself from every little activity that I do. Digital content I consume, people I socialize with, courses I study and places I visit. All these factors have played a major role in nurturing my personality as a mechanical engineer. Since my school days, I have performed well in both academics and extracurricular. I decided to go for Engineering especially Mechanical because the concept of machines intrigued me. Specially the fact that it can reduce human efforts without affecting productivity level and quality of it. This concept inspired me to take mechanical engineering as my core field during engineering. During my bachelors, I have gone through significant changes in my characteristics as a professional by participating in Clubs like SAE Automobile which focused on designing and building assembly of automobiles. Volunteering and coordinating several technical and non technical events at my University gave me a thrust to develop myself as a good communicator of ideas and leader. To give myself industrial experience I decided to do an internship in my sixth semester of bachelor’s degree. I did one internship and one job in my last two years of degree, details of which are mentioned below: Looking at my curiosity about operations of complex machines and their assembly, I decided to do a Master's in Mechanical Engineering at Guelph University. It was an excellent experience to learn courses from University of Guelph under experienced Professionals and subject experts. I got an opportunity to use many technical softwares during my projects. The most interesting and insightful experience was to manage my project team which came from different nationalities. It helped me build perspective as a leader and team player. Conclusively, I would like to say that my technical knowledge which I gained through both on field and off field experience can benefit any firm related to mechanical engineering and its operations.
