Hey, I'm Harshit! I am a First Year Student at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai pursuing B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. I've always been an enthusiast of talking to people and sharing our experiences, but it wasn't always this way. Back in 2008, I shifted from Bihar to Goa, a place where English remains a necessity for non-Konkani speakers, and I definitely knew nothing other than my native language Bhojpuri, and Hindi. It took me some time but eventually, I learnt how to speak by listening and talking to my friends and teachers, I learnt how there was a difference between tomorrow and yesterday, how names of animals were spelt correctly and how the propensity to communicate is a requisite for survival. In due course I realized that when you start putting credence in your beliefs and Views, it makes your path to success (of the goals you set for yourself) smoother than ever. I started gaining confidence, participated in several events which required me to speak, listen, communicate and even observe, it has now brought me to where I am now, though not very close to my culminating goals but much far away from where I began. Along with all the public speaking, Debates, MUNs I’ve taken part in and organized, I’m also a fanatic of sports and fitness, be it football, high jump, table tennis, or athletics, I have loved to participate in this and perform to the best of my abilities. Time and again, things have not gone the way I would’ve wanted them to, I sometimes failed examinations, lost in events, stuttered while I spoke, messed up my goals and went through things that were never in my control but, acceptance, adaptability and a truce with circumstances have perpetually been my partners, even when I didn’t know how to spell Rhinoceros and also when I thought I lost everything.
