About Haruko Castro

Over the course of ten years, I have worked as an English language teacher in the UK, Japan, China, and Hungary. I am well versed in teaching English for Academic Purposes due to my recent role as an EAP lecturer and to previously supporting students in IELTS preparation. My current roles with various corporate clients in Budapest have further bolstered my already strong familiarity with teaching Business English. Despite these areas of focus, I am comfortable teaching a wide variety of curricula given my years of experience teaching children, teens, and adults. While working, I earned an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL, focusing my studies on pronunciation development and fostering learner independence. Having lived and worked in several countries, I seek opportunities to face new professional and personal challenges and learn about different cultures. Furthermore, my commitments to studying Spanish, Japanese, and Hungarian enable me to empathise with students as I support them wherever they are in their own language-learning journeys.
