About Haruo Ono

Of the 35years experience working for foreign-affiliated companies, I have served 25 of them in a senior management position for 3 companies and managed their Japanese subsidiaries. For 14 years, I was responsible for the management and startup of Penguin Books Japan, a subsidiary of Penguin Books Ltd, headquartered in the UK. I was also responsible for the startup of OAG Worldwide Limited, an information-service company, headquartered in the UK for 3 years. Then for 8 years, I was responsible for the turnaround of Macmillan LanguageHouse, a subsidiary of Macmillan Education, a leading educational publisher. In the field of publishing, I expanded the digitization of the business, including information services, contents management, and online projects. Additionally, I contributed to the startup of the membership-based online project for ALC Press, a Japanese educational publisher. The transition of analogue media to digital media is more apparent now than ever. By reviewing traditional business practices, digital will allows us to create new business models. Appointed as an Executive Director of the Academic Association for Copyright Clearance in April 2015 and then, in June 2016, moved back to the UK-headquartered media and information-service industry and appointed as Sales Director-ASPAC/AUS at Parma Intelligence | Informa. Since December 2017, I have been acting as Adviser/Consultant at 3 companies, ie. Joyz, Lifesupport and HALICO. Joined EdulinX in May 2022 as Director- Growth Strategy/Corporate Planning/Business Development after served as CCO for CosmoPier between Jan 2019 and Apr 2022.
