About Hashir Jamil

I build data pipelines and backend systems that turn messy data into something useful and actionable. At York University, I developed Python-based automation to optimize financial account allocations, reducing manual work and improving budget accuracy for research projects. I also work with large datasets in Python and Excel to detect financial discrepancies and enable better decision-making. In my software engineering research roles, I’ve worked with cutting-edge AI tools, including generative AI and computer vision, applying neural networks to solve complex problems and improve data processing workflows. These experiences have strengthened my ability to integrate advanced AI techniques into scalable backend systems. Beyond backend development, I’ve taught programming tutorials and created coding assessments as a Teaching Assistant, helping students build solid foundations in software engineering. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering from York University and enjoy designing reliable, scalable data systems that drive real impact.
