I am a first-generation college graduate who immigrated to the United States at the age of 13. While I did not speak a word of English, through my hard work and dedication, I was able to learn the language quickly and graduate with three different degrees. I have 14 years of experience in leadership development and training, programming, relationship building, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in higher education. I see myself as a detailed oriented transformative leader who believes in democratic leadership and leading by example while creating a more just and equitable environment for everyone, especially, those from marginalized communities. I have received one of higher education’s prestigious awards, NASPA’s Excellence Award for leading efforts to support first-generation college students at the University of Pennsylvania. I’ve also been a recipient of University of Pennsylvania’s Models of Excellence Award.
