About Hatem Darweesh
Passionate about the intersection of technology and innovation, I have always liked robots, cars, and overcoming challenges. I graduated from FCIS Ain Shams University in 2002 and co-founded NRG Solutions, where I played a pivotal role from 2004 to 2010. In 2009, I completed my master's in computer science, focusing on the design and development of control languages for robots. This ignited my interest in autonomous driving, leading me to Tokyo, Japan, where I served as the Autonomous Driving team leader at ZMP Inc. from 2013 to 2016. My journey continued with a move to Nagoya University in 2016, where I pursued a Ph.D, then a position as a Researcher. Throughout this period (2016-2023), I actively engaged in robotics challenges, autonomous driving experiments, and contributed to the development of Autoware. My expertise spans the entire autonomous driving stack, with a specialization in Planning. In 2020, I established ZATITECH to further develop the ASSURE mapping tool, one of the most advanced HD road network mapping automation tools globally. This venture represents my commitment to pushing technological boundaries and creating impactful solutions.
