About Hawa M.

With over five years of experience in the education and justice sectors, I am deeply committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within communities and beyond. As a Senior Program and Payroll Associate at Impact Justice, I manage critical aspects of the California Justice Leaders program, supporting formerly incarcerated young adults through employment and leadership opportunities. My role includes recruitment, onboarding, and training facilitation, as well as overseeing program compliance and data management to ensure impactful outcomes. Previously, as an AmeriCorps Service Year Adviser and Recruiter at City Year, I successfully developed and executed recruitment strategies to attract a diverse and qualified applicant pool. I cultivated relationships with high schools, colleges, and community organizations to increase awareness of opportunities within the program. Additionally, I planned, coordinated, and executed onboarding and orientation for over 200 AmeriCorps members annually. My role also included facilitating engagement sessions, conducting candidate screenings, and providing individualized support throughout the application process. These experiences strengthened my expertise in recruitment, talent acquisition, human resources processes, training, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement. I am also skilled in creating engaging content that amplifies program impact, managing relationships across diverse teams, and maintaining meticulous records to drive operational success. Passionate about empowering others, I thrive at the intersection of program coordination and community-building.
