My name is Hawkar Twra, and I am a dedicated professional serving as a Vet Research/Health Tech at the prestigious OHSU (Oregon Health & Science University) Research Center. With a profound passion for both biology and education, I earned my bachelor’s degree in biology from Salahaddin University in 2018. Before joining OHSU, I gained valuable experience working at various esteemed institutions. I contributed to research efforts at Salahaddin University Research Center, where I honed my skills and deepened my understanding of the field. Additionally, my time at Shaqlawa Teaching Hospital allowed me to apply my knowledge in practical settings, further enriching my expertise in healthcare. I also expanded my professional horizons outside of academia by working at Ceva Logistics, where I developed logistical and organizational skills crucial for effective project management. Moreover, my experience at Ha’ Painting provided me with a creative outlet and fostered my ability to think outside the box, an invaluable asset in any professional endeavor. In addition to these experiences, I have held roles as both a Biologist and a Science Teacher, showcasing my commitment to both research and education. Furthermore, I had the privilege of serving as the Subject Coordinator at Stirling Schools & Ronaki Hawler Education Company, contributing to the development and implementation of science curricula for international schools. Throughout my career, I have remained steadfast in my dedication to excellence, which has been recognized through the receipt of numerous awards and certificates for exemplary academic performance and leadership skills. In my current role at OHSU, I am passionate about utilizing my diverse skill set to make meaningful contributions to the advancement of veterinary research and health technology. I am committed to fostering innovation and excellence in the field, driving impactful change for the betterment of society.
