About Hayden Gallagher

Hello, I am Hayden Gallagher and I am seeking an entry level, management track position with a fleet management team. I will be graduating in May of 2017 from Ferris State University’s Heavy Equipment Service Engineering Bachelor of Science program, with a minor in Fleet Management. Ferris’s Heavy Equipment program is the only four year Heavy Equipment program in the United States. The program includes in depth hands on mechanic classes along with management, and business classes to produce the most versatile, well rounded students in the industry. The program has given me the knowledge necessary to work side by side with some of the best equipment mechanics, as well as truck mechanics in the industry. I gained hands on fleet shop experience through both opportunities and was given the chance to work on Cintas’s corporate fleet team one of the largest truck fleets in the country while they were developing their fleet program. The corporate experience demanded I become competent in all Microsoft programs and use them in a team setting to analyze data, often times developing raw data into presentable information. My experiences as a whole have taught me to thrive from feedback and have given me a full understanding of every role in the industry from the corporate teams presenting initiatives to executives to the mechanic performing services. I understand the daily tasks, and roles of each while recognizing the weaknesses within the system. Prior to pursuing my Heavy Equipment goals working on family farms growing up taught me the work ethic, and self-discipline needed to engage in the continuous learning necessary to achieve my goals. Working on the farm requires hard work, long hours, and the initiative necessary to learn new skills to keep the equipment running.
