About Hayden Scott

Don't be boring.'​ These words have driven me at various points in my life. And held me in good stead as a copywriter and creative head at some of the world's biggest (Ogilvy, DDB, Hakuhodo), smallest (StrawberryFrog, Metal) and most fiercely independent (Famous Innovations) agencies. Every now and then I indulge the voices in my head as a screenwriter, illustrator, songwriter and musician. Along the way I've managed to reinvent a 90-year old Indian brand (Raymond); used storybooks to change a nation's attitude toward charity (Nanhi Kali); rewritten the taglines of the world's most iconic brands for the cause of girl child education (Nestle); got Indian dads to demand access to baby changing rooms (Snapdeal), invented a paintbrush for disabled foot artists (DOMS Stationery) and recently used apples to defy a state-wide communication blackout (Radio Zindagi). 75+ awards (D & AD, One Show, One Show Asia, Kyoorius, Cannes Young Lions, Abbys, Effies) and the support of some incredible teammates and clients put me on a list of 40 top people under the age of 40 in Marketing and Advertising (2020) and even won me a Copywriter of the Year gong (2015). These days I lead the creative team at Virtue India and APAC, working deep within culture to build brands in an age of goldfish attention spans. When not at work, I'm passionate about mentoring. Something I do often at Miami Ad School and the National Institute of Design (NID). Weekends (if I get them) are spent sketching urban architecture and producing music with my bands Citizen Koi and Stella by Starlight.
