About Hayden Smith

A final year student at Flinders University studying a Bachelor of Business (Advanced Leadership)(Innovation & Enterprise) who has a deep love for teamwork and offering solutions to both businesses and customers. Already with 5 years of retail experience at Aquila and Anaconda, I've developed as a passionate salespersons and a positive, professional young professional. Among my proudest achievements through University, was the consulting project I was part of. As a team of 6, we worked with an Adelaide-based National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider, who were in the process of transitioning in to a franchise business model. The initial aim for us was to provide this NDIS company with a specific and complete franchise toolkit. However, through deep primary and secondary research, the consulting team determined that considering their circumstances, a franchise business model was not ideal, and therefore the franchise toolkit was not needed. Instead, we provided an alternative, in the form of a subscription model. This project has not been finalised yet, and so we are yet to see the outcomes this company will achieve. I also have been part of many start-up ventures and projects, where I've tested the market, analysed competitors, customers, pricing, etc. Being hands-on with many ventures, it's taught me a lot about the expectations of an entrepreneur, and the creative flexibility you can have as a founder. The aspiration after studies is to combine all the experience and skills I have learnt over my career, and take on the challenge of building up a company, providing the world with innovative solutions and seeing my work change the way people live.
