About Hayley Irick

Hayley is an experienced geologist who has worked with Terracon since November 2021. Since beginning her career by joining the NCDEQ Brownfields Program in 2016, Hayley has helped guarantee the safe and successful redevelopment of multiple contaminated properties across the state. Hayley’s sharp attention to detail and flexible thinking allow her to tackle difficult tasks that arise in the ever-changing and complicated environmental world; no two of the properties she works on ever present the same challenges! Hayley has been able to successfully leverage her experience working with NCDEQ as she transitioned to the private sector in 2021. Since joining Terracon, Hayley has managed numerous high priority and high value redevelopment projects with both public and private clients. Prior to getting involved in Brownfields, Hayley worked as a geology tutor at her alma mater, UNC – Chapel Hill. It was here that she developed a passion for making science available to and easily understood by all. This passion has carried forward in her work today as she routinely educates outside parties about environmental risk, contamination, and the challenges that can arise during redevelopment of contaminated property.
