About Hayley Smith

I am a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic. I have a great passion for working with people, having a positive influence and enhancing the working environment where I can. I strive to make a difference, not only to the organisation and my key client groups/colleagues but also to those in my social and family life. My current and previous roles have provided me with opportunities to enhance my professional skills and competencies within diverse and specialised areas of the HR function, these include; Generalist HR Operations/employee relations, Recruitment/Talent Management, Compensation and Benefits, Engagement and Training and Development. I am currently fulfilling a Talent and People Lead role remotely within a global IT consultancy company within the Technology industry and have been since January 2022. Prior to this for I have extensive HR Advisory experience within the Energy services sector for over 9 years. I have been lucky enough to have been given opportunities which stretch far beyond my responsibility level. I have gained technical knowledge of both industries, which has helped me to have a better understanding and appreciation for the operational/technical and commercial capabilities within each business. This allows for me to support the business more effectively and enables me to fully commit to the deliverables set, in order for us to work as a team and achieve the overall business strategy. This experience to date has been extremely beneficial and contributed to my development due to the diverse and interesting challenges I have encountered. The highlight of my experience so far has been the role carried out within the Talent Development team at Wood Group where the team I was involved in won the 2014 ‘CHeRries’ award in the ‘Team Initiative’ division for the efforts and overall success of Wood Group Gradate induction week of 2013. In 2017, I achieved final nomination stage for the ‘Blossoming Cherry’ award for this event which was put forward by Stork, It was a privilege to be viewed me as Blossoming talent in the business and as a result this helped me to appreciate and reflect on my rapid progression I have had to date. I am grateful for the experiences I have had so far and am looking to gain the opportunity to further develop my skills within a challenging career in the HR profession.
