About Hazel Catron

I am currently a student enrolled in King's College Master of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics Program in the Class of 2024. This Future Education Model Program will allow me to obtain a Master's Degree and complete supervised hours so I am eligible to sit for the exam to become a Registered Dietitian. In addition to my education, I volunteered with UCSD Moore's Cancer Center's Healing Food Programs for one year supporting the dietetics staff with nutrition programs. This volunteer position turned into my Community Nutrition rotation, which I completed in May 2023. I am currently completing my food service rotation with the San Marcos Unified School District Child Nutrition Services department, and will be completing my clinical internship at El Centro Regional Medical Center in March 2024. My goal as a dietitian is to provide outstanding nutrition counseling and education to help support individuals and groups with dietary changes. With my background in the field of hospitality and event management, I strive to provide excellent patient care and integrate my hospitality skills into the dietetics field. Over the course of my education, I plan to engage with a variety of patient populations and work with different types of dietitians to expand my knowledge about different speciality areas. Upon graduation, I aim to work in an outpatient setting providing nutrition counseling and education to a wide variety of patients.
