About Hazel Downey
Future Lawyer and Judge. Currently studying at the University of Ottawa. I have previously spent time working in the political sector situated in Canada’s capital of Ottawa learning how policymaking/government affairs function while having worked on the hill with an MP. I have also learned the governance perspective from a technical angle within policymaking as I currently sit as a member on the Board of Governors at the University of Ottawa along with being lead clerk at the University of Ottawa Students’ Union. While my creativity runs wild, I have previously channeled it for 4+ years towards a marketing standpoint while helping businesses/non-profits expand their reach. As well, on the side, I have coded and designed websites/apps, working on the front-end with HTML/CSS/JS and creating programs on the backend with Java and Python. I continue to plan and create logical solutions for a more productive future within technology and politics with the hopes to kickstart into law in the coming years.
