About Hazel Harrison

Hazel Harrison's success story starts where very few CEO’s begin, behind a toboggan being pulled by a dog-team in Canada’s Arctic. Hazel is Inuvialuit and Dene, originally from Northwest Territories. From 1994 to 2025 Hazel started and managed nine different businesses, in a variety of industries from hospitality, construction, real estate, digital health to recruiting & training. In 2006 Hazel graduated from Carleton University with a BA in Psychology. She also studied Business at McMaster University. During COVID, Hazel completed the Technology Entrepreneurship Lab to Market program with Harvard Business School, and became a Certified Business Advisor. Hazel is an Academic Member of Laval University’s Centre for Research and Co-creation in Innovation and Sustainable Indigenous Business. Hazel has coached startup companies and provided training for: Native Women’s Association of Canada; Nasittuq Corporation; Wilfrid Laurier University's Women Entrepreneurship Center; Women of Ontario Social Enterprise Network (WOSEN); Centre for Social Innovation (CSI); Alberta Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) and Invest Ottawa. In 2023 Hazel launched CRT, a proud member of the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business, an Indigenous majority-owned company, whose mission is to support the reconciliation process by providing training & recruiting services to all Canadians in order to heal, grow stronger and prosper together.
