About Hazel Hynes

Since graduating from NUI, Galway in 2017 with a BSc. in Podiatric Medicine, I have worked in a variety of podiatry roles. Ranging from private practice, hospital work and community settings, I have vast experience in treating different patient groups such as complex diabetic foot disease, wound care, vulnerable adults, diabetes care, MSK and pediatrics. I am currently working as part of the slaintecare initiative. I am involved with the set up of the foot service which will run in tandem with the diabetes chronic disease hub. Please see my profile for a more detailed overview of my experience. My main achievements include dissertation poster presentation at the transatlantic wound conference Galway 2017. Secondly, I was awarded a PCA Diploma Management of Diabetic Foot Disease from NUIG in 2020. In 2021 I completed my MSc degree in Biomedical Science. Some of my professional interests include the medical device industry, regulatory affairs, R&D, wound care, diabetes care (pharma), quality control, leadership/management, mentoring and clinical research.
