About Hazel Vazquez Xaca

Having a degree in Information Systems Engineering from Johnson C. Smith University and over 10 years of experience in hotel management, I have worked with many renowned firms and companies. As Assistant General Manager at the Holiday Inn Express in Matthews this year 2023, I have part taken in a new high revenue month income in the history of this hotel. I have led my hotel team to a high Guest Love Scores in the high 90s percentile from low 70s percentile. I am continuing to grow in my career, learning revenue strategies, taking on more responsibilities such as being in charge of a few AR accounts, and establishing trust to my staff through delegation. In 2019 through 2022 I managed the 89-room hotel throughout Covid-19 and a full hotel renovation. I interviewed and managed a high turn-over rate staff. I also created and implemented new Covid-19 procedures for checking in guests, and checked and maintained accommodations to adhere to local government policies. I also worked alongside the owners, general manager, and construction managers to coordinate the hotel's renovation, inspecting all 89 rooms and creating policies for customers to guide them through each renovation stage. In addition, I also performed the roles of HOD for the front desk and Loyalty Champion, oversaw housekeeping, breakfast, and maintained accurate billing for guests, groups, and business accounts. I acquired new LNRs and maintained relationships with pre-existing LNRs, created the weekly schedules, and replied to guest reviews on various platforms. I'm an asset to the businesses by maintaining a flexible and open availability, working over 10 hours beyond the required 45-hour week schedule and almost no weekends off, which shows my loyalty, dedication and most of all, passion for the job.
