About Hazem Aboutaleb

I am an Electrical Engineer with double major in both Wireless Communication and Microelectronics Design & Fabrication. Holding a PhD degree in Microelectronics Design and Fabrication from University of Idaho, and a MSc. and BSc. degrees in Wireless Communications from the Egyptian Military Technical Collage (MTC). Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Visiting Scholar - Research Associate, University of Idaho. I work as a Communication Network Resilience Manger / National Institute for Advanced Transportation Technology (NIATT). I worked as an officer engineer with the Egyptian Armed Forces and retired as a Brigadier General. Dr. Eng. in 2020 after more than (30) years of honored service. For the last five years of my military service, I hold the position of the Chief of the Wireless Communication Branch/Signal Department/Egyptian Armed Forces, Executive Director of the Ministerial Technical/Security Committee, and Member of the Consultant/Executive Group of two consecutive Signal Department Directors. In addition, worked as VP of the Egyptian Communication and Cryptography Research Center (ECCRC), Project Manager and Senior System Eng. of a (10) month abroad Joint Research and Development Project (R&D) and a Transfer of Technology Cooperation Program (TOT) between the Egyptian Armed Forces and the International ZyXEL Communications Corp, Taiwan. In addition, I filled the position of a Member of the Egyptian Ministerial Supreme Council for Cyber Security, and Member of the Egyptian Ministerial Committee for the Governmental Cloud Computing. During my PhD study, I worked as a senior research member in the research team assembled and headed by my PhD supervisor,(Micron’s endowed Professor in University of Idaho), mentored and fully founded by Micron Technology Inc. The team was formed for developing and enhancing the performance of one of Micron's DDRAM4 memory cards. Academically, I worked as Adjunct Professor in Military technical college, Egypt teaching Electronics, Semiconductors and Communication Courses, 2014-2020 and I worked as Adjunct Professor in the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport, Egypt, 2020-2023. Demonstrated talent in leading teams and supervising engineers with (25) year wide/manifold technical knowledge, managerial skills/ experience in Wireless Comm, Public Safety Networks, Encryption and Security Systems, Microelectronics Fabrication, R&D, Procurement, Training and Teaching Electrical, Microelectronics, and Communication courses for undergrad Electrical Engineering Students.
