About Heather Beatty

I'm director of the Brown Family Foundation, a private foundation seeking to empower our neighbors locally and in the developing world. Our goal is to support programs or organizations that protect and empower women and girls as well as increase capacity and leadership. Poverty, war, migration, and injustice through lack of equality contribute to trafficking, sexual exploitation, forced labor, and other violence and discrimination. As followers of Jesus Christ, we believe this is an issue of social justice and mercy and are called to advocate for the vulnerable. Our desire is to address educational disparities, injustice through sexual exploitation and trafficking, and lack of livelihood opportunities. Our passion also lies with empowering local leaders in the majority world by equipping them through education and training. If given the opportunity, we believe local leaders are in the best position to lead and develop programs that will meet the needs of the people in their community and/or country.
