About Heather Brink

I'm currently working in the Workforce Development sector, formally worked in Education and Housing. Prior to that I was an AmeriCorps Member both locally and out of State. All combined I have over 25 years of working in service to our collective community. My personal focus will always be to make all places and spaces more accessible for everyone. Every person should feel safe, welcome and included in the pursuit of their goals and plans for their life. I started with Workforce Snohomish (WFS) in 2019 as a Education and Employment Navigator working with students in the Allied Health and Social Service field at Skagit Valley College and Whatcom Community College. I enjoy working with college students, there is always so much hope and forward thinking that takes place in an educational setting. When I was in college I studied Theories and Philosophy of Education and took as many different art classes as I could. I enjoy thinking creatively and believe that learning happens in many different ways. I like to encourage people to pursue their advanced employment goals, develop a belief that they are deserving of a career and ultimately navigate the feelings, emotions, awkward conversations and all the other stuff that comes about when you are working on achieving a new career and personal change. Recently I have been utilizing my creative energies in the position of Service Delivery Program Manager were I have the privilege to work with both my internal WFS team and teams of community agencies to develop and deliver programs to serve the career and employment needs of the individuals in our community. The programming and grants that we are working on provide opportunities for people to move toward and obtain better employment, further their education, develop skills and ultimately increase their employability. These programs fundamentally have the potential to create better economic security for not just the individual and their family but the whole of our society.
