About Heather Canavan

16 years experience being employed by Northumbria Police. Most recently I am qualified as an investigator having spent 9 years within the Professional Standards Department, I am now a PSI in PSD. for 8 years I have worked across the communities in the Newcastle district within Neighborhood policing. I have achieved a management qualification, whilst working for NP, I have developed laterally as a civil orders officer on the surge/grip projects, I'm part of the blue light support members, affiliated with DACA - disability and carers association and support colleagues as a mentor/coach- currently working towards my level three qualification in this field. I love my job and find it fulfilling to support members of the public in being able to find answers to support their resolution. I also enjoy supporting officers and staff who are subject to the complaint and conduct process, ensuring investigations are fair and impartial, to improve force standards and learning. In my own time I have 9 years weight training, and I am experienced as a competitive powerlifter, becoming best female lifter with BDFPA August 19. my pbs are s-160 b-90 d-200 t - 450 Currently training in bodybuilding but not competitively, and have experience in boxing, kickboxing and ground fighting. I enjoy sports having been involved in an array of areas from ballet to basketball and love dedicating time to sharpen my skills and challenge my abilities. I relish team sports but prefer solo activities as I can work to my best potential.
