About Heather Chaides

I’m an educator committed to equity and inclusion, with experience in K–8 classrooms and a background that blends STEM, outdoor learning, and culturally sustaining practices. I design engaging, standards-aligned lessons across content areas to support diverse learners in both formal and informal settings. Currently, I’m applying for full-time teaching positions for the 2025–2026 school year as I complete my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at CSU Long Beach (expected May 2025) and student teach in a sixth-grade classroom. As a first-generation Latina college graduate raised in Long Beach, I understand the power of education and the importance of representation. I strive to create inclusive, student-centered classrooms where every learner feels seen, valued, and supported. I’ve been recognized for my warm, caring presence—as well as my ability to set clear expectations and maintain a calm, structured learning environment. I believe students thrive when they feel safe, respected, and held to high standards. With experience in public schools, special education classrooms, and outdoor learning programs, I thrive in collaborative environments and look forward to growing in a district that shares my commitment to equity, innovation, and student success.
