Background
About Heather Clyde
During my time at Homeward Animal Shelter, I’ve played a part in the organization going from 500 adoptions per year to 1,200+. My education as a veterinary technician has allowed me to improve the care of the animals at the shelter and to control disease in the best interest of all the animals houses within the shelter. Over the years, I have gained experience in leadership, public relations, grant writing, social media communications, and animal behavior. I’ve also played a vital role in ending the euthanization of unclaimed pets in the local impounds through collaboration with local and regional rescues, and the vast expansion of a foster care network. In 2020, I received my Certification in Animal Welfare Administration (CAWA), and am currently the only person in North Dakota to hold such a distinction. I believe that shelter animals deserve to have the very best people championing for them and I am proud to be one of them.
