As a School Counselor and Child Safeguarding Coordinator with nearly two decades of experience, I am passionate about providing young people with the skills necessary to support their own wellbeing and realize their possibilities beyond high school. I am also passionate about helping to support teachers explore their own well-being and support Administrators in building school-wide well-being practices to help adults practice the social-emotional work we are exploring with students. Utilizing areas of Positive Psychology and a Strengths based approach, my hope is to integrate conversations about wellness into all corners of a school community. It is my belief that we can create a safe context in schools for young people to recognize and process their struggles and opportunities and develop coping strategies and skills which they can draw on at school and in the lives they build beyond our communities.
