A tech-savvy researcher and community builder in Halifax, N.S. who is interested in freelance or volunteer opportunities to use my skills to help others tackle challenges and meet their goals. I love the current work that I do helping other researchers succeed and feel most fulfilled when I am also supporting initiatives in the broader community. A jill-of-all trades, I love learning new information and skills, then putting them to use. A strong interest and knowledge in community organizing and social media has led to past experiences as a volunteer social media coordinator for a number of community groups. I have over a decade of research experience in multiple disciplines using qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods approaches and a natural curiosity. A former executive director of a bilingual non-profit provincial lobbying organization, I have experience in media relations, government relations, admin & basic finances/accounting, communications, policy analysis, policy creation and lobbying submissions. I have a solid background in creative event planning and volunteer management through two decades of community involvement and work experience. Experience presenting in academic and professional settings, and writing for a variety of audiences, means that I can help you spread your message or research results.
