About Heather Fenner

I am a Cree Métis woman living on the occupied, traditional, unceded territory of the Ktunaxa Nation, also home to the Rocky Mountain Métis Association. I carry deep respect and gratitude for the land and the people who have stewarded it since time immemorial. In my 26-year nursing journey, I’ve worked to support Indigenous health equity through policy work, community-based planning, and clinical education. I’ve been involved in designing and implementing innovative approaches to improve health delivery systems and respond to community needs. My work is grounded in collaborative practice—engaging in team-based projects, building meaningful partnerships, and supporting initiatives that centre Indigenous leadership and knowledge. I remain committed to learning, listening, and engaging in work that supports systemic transformation.
