About Heather Fetters

I have a rich background in science education with experience across various grade levels and subjects. My journey began with a BS in biology from the University of Kentucky, followed by a teaching certification from the University of Maine Augusta, where I gained experience teaching in both middle and high schools. I then began my teaching career in rural Colorado. I focused on 8th-grade science, particularly physics, and branched out into teaching specialized courses such as Science in Film, Forensics, and STEM science. Now, I am continuing to inspire students in New Hampshire as a high school biology and astronomy teacher. Beyond the classroom, I've contributed to professional development, leading courses on data-driven decision-making and school perspectives. My dedication to fostering meaningful teacher-student connections is evident in my involvement with the One-Trusted Adult Task Force. Currently, I'm advancing my expertise by pursuing a master's degree in STEM education at the American College of Education. I have a strong connection to the military since my dad served in the Navy and my mom served in the Army. Family is a central part of my life, with two sons (15 and 13) and a husband, Lee, who shares my passion for education as a middle school English teacher. Between marching band, cross country, flag football, track and field, and jazz band activities, we try to enjoy nature by hiking, swimming, and gardening. Balancing my roles as a dedicated educator and a supportive family member, I bring a unique perspective and resilience to everything I do.
