About Heather Galbraith

For me, working in a collaborative team to build city resilience and futures thinking capacity is the perfect alignment of my curiosity, hopeful optimism for a better future, and purposeful desire to contribute to it. As Program Lead, Strategic Foresight, I co-developed our Resilient Calgary strategy and led the initial implementation of our Natural Infrastructure pillar and Future Focused Calgary, Strategic Foresight program. While at The City, I also led work in flood recovery, emergency management, business continuity and business process improvement. Prior to joining The City, I was a community planner with both the Federation of Calgary Communities and Calgary Board of Education. I have a Masters in Environmental Design (Planning) from the University of Calgary and my major research project was on developing and implementing an environmental management plan for a city in The Philippines. Looking toward the future, I am excited to harness the passion and knowledge of my colleagues and peers to address city resilience challenges in innovative ways.
