About Heather Gibbs

I’m a teacher by trade—and by heart. With eight years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of guiding 8th-11th grade students through the worlds of Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Along the way, I’ve learned a vital truth: it doesn’t take one person to raise a learner—it takes a team, a little magic, and a whole lot of heart. In my classroom, curriculum design meets social-emotional learning, and data-driven instruction dances with creativity (sometimes literally). I specialize in crafting engaging lessons around writing, project-based learning, and public speaking—blending rigor with relevance. My students don’t just write essays; they publish poetry, debate real-world issues, and find their voices. Whether implementing IEPs, co-teaching, or differentiating instruction across diverse populations, my goal is always the same: to connect first, then teach. I built a classroom culture around meaningful discussions, connection and empathy, and dreaming big—because helping students dream big is just as important as teaching them how to use a semicolon correctly. Outside the classroom, I follow my own curiosity (which, like most teenagers, refusing to sit still). During my recent hiatus from education, I explored the whimsical world of bakery decorating, copywriting, and even working with animals—because lifelong learning shouldn’t stop when the bell rings. Education is my foundation, creativity is my driver, and curiosity is my compass. Wherever I go, I bring energy, empathy, and a deep belief that learning—like dreams—belongs to everyone.
