About Heather Guadiz

Graduating in an ABSN nursing program during the pandemic hasn’t been easy. However, it has allowed me to become flexible and resilient in my work. I am very self motivated, excellent at time management, and detail oriented. Teamwork has become an important part of my learning experience and I enjoy taking on the role of team leader. I am compassionate and hard working with an interest in critical care and the emergency department. I want a field that will continue to challenge me and build upon my skills. I have over 20 years of experience in the medical field, which includes positions as a hemodialysis technician and the emergency room technician. These positions have helped prepare me for my future career as a nurse; teaching me communication, collaboration and prioritization skills. In both positions I was a preceptor which required me to orient/train new employees and students. During my time in dialysis I was part of a team which created and implemented a dialysis access monitoring program in collaboration with the vascular surgeons to improve patient outcomes.
