Background
About Heather Houk
Starting Fall of 2017 began a new business adventure for myself and my husband Wayne called Tilted Earth Farm in Durango, CO. Over the last several years, we have worked to create a healthy soil substrate and grow the best produce that we can. We raise around 50 chickens for amazing eggs and let them live happy lives where they roam over an acre of our property. We are slowly trying to rehabilitate the property to have a more permaculture design that is as sustainable as possible. I also have a day job that I love, where I get to use both of my academic degrees and a lot of my life experience working as the Pueblo Community College Program Coordinator and Department Chair in Agriculture, Forestry, and Drone Technology at our Southwest campus. Building community partnerships and working with students makes life worth living.
