About Heather Klaff

I am a passionate veterinary technician who is invested in improving the health and welfare of animals and people, particularly in a nonprofit shelter setting. I have many years of experience in the field, dating back to my first introduction to veterinary medicine in high school. Over the years, I developed a very strong medical skill set and am technically proficient in low stress animal restraint, venipuncture, intravenous catheterization, cystocentesis, vaccine and medication administration, lab testing and microscopy, and radiology. I have also now expanded my management, budgeting, and organizational skill set as part of the leadership team at HSCC. I currently direct the medical program at HSCC, including both medical care for in house shelter animals and running a public low cost spay/neuter and wellness clinic for financially insecure and under-resourced pet owners.
